Singapore. Asia's global sports media property ONE Championship on Monday (14/05) showcased its new mobile app and its upcoming event ONE: Unstoppable Dreams slated for this Friday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
In addition to intense face-offs between athletes competing on Friday night, ONE Championship also took the time to further announce the launch of its new ONE Championship mobile app, available for download on both Android and iOS platforms. The app is endorsed by five cellular providers across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia's Telkomsel.
"We have announced five, including Telkomsel, and those were just the very beginning. We are aiming to be present in each country. We will also have further announcements to make in the future," ONE Championship chief executive Chatri Sityodtong said.
The app aims to provide millions of martial arts fans around the world with access to every ONE Championship live event, as well as the complete library of digital content for free. Content will be streamed in full HD, while users may also observe statistical information and detailed backgrounds about their favorite fighters.
"Eighty percent of our audience are comprised of millennials. Their first option in consuming content is on the mobile phone. I want to showcase this with much appreciation: free fights and free action for them," he said. "On Friday, we are one with Singapore in celebrating the beauty of martial arts as we have prepared the very best match lineup for the delight of our Singaporean audience and the rest of the world. It will also be available for free through the ONE Super App. Witnessing a great display of martial arts action is now at your fingertips."
The app itself was developed in under six months, in cooperation with developers from India. Chatri stated at the press conference that this would allow more exposure to ONE, and invite global MMA communities to take part in downloading.
The upcoming event will feature the reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion "Unstoppable" Angela Lee versus Mei "V.V" Yamaguchi; ONE Featherweight & Lightweight World Champion Martin "The Situ-Asian" Nguyen competing against Christian "The Warrior" Lee; as well as Muay Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao against Sergio "Samurai" Wielzen.
Headquartered in Singapore, ONE Championship is the home of martial arts, hosting bouts across all styles of martial arts such as Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Karate, Kung Fu, Silat, Sanda, Lethwei, Mixed Martial Arts, Tae Kwon Do, Submission Grappling, and more.
In addition to its digital platforms, ONE Championship broadcasts to over 1.7 billion potential viewers across 136 countries around the world with some of the largest global broadcasters, including Fox Sports, ABS-CBN, Astro, Skynet, Mediacorp, OSN, and Indonesia's SCTV.
